CLAY COUNTY
Art exhibit at justice center: New art graces the walls of Clay County’s juvenile justice center — the work of a 15-year-old Overland Park artist. Jeff Hanson painted “True Colors,” which was unveiled last week at the R. Kenneth Elliott Children’s Justice Center, 351 E. Kansas St., Liberty. The piece, a series of nine one-foot-square canvases, was commissioned by the
Clay County Fine Arts Council.

Jeff, 15, attends the Kansas State School for the Blind. He was born with neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition that caused a tumor to grow on his optic nerve. His Web site is www.jeffreyowenhanson.com.
